The Knowledge Loft was started by a GP tutor and a writer who felt that more can be done to equip people with useful and meaningful understandings of the world we live in. Through the articles, summaries, insights and questions, the team hopes that these can be stepping stones towards the wonderful discovery of self, society and others – to know that there is a larger world beyond ourselves and our own lives.
[IRWIN SEE]
Irwin has been teaching General Paper for more than 10 years, and he still finds it a joy to help students not simply to do well for the subject, but to nudge them to go beyond their lives to be more curious and engaged with the world. He has been blessed to have had scholarship opportunities to do his Master’s degree in Oxford and his Bachelor’s degree at London School of Economics, and wants to return some of this privilege in impacting the next generation.
[ALANA GOH]
Alana is a part-time writer, full-time optimist working to improve access to mental health care and involved in a mental health advocacy project. She enjoys reading widely as it enriches her worldview. Humbly wielding the power of words at The Knowledge Loft, she hopes to share this joy of learning and empower students to find their personal voice in this world. She is also deeply appreciative of her Bachelor’s degree in Sociology which provided multiple fascinating lenses to view societies.
